VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Bambini Early Learning Centre, Newtown, our vision for reconciliation is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and contributions are recognised, respected, and meaningfully embedded in everyday life.

We are committed to walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the spirit of truth, justice, and respect—acknowledging the strength, wisdom, and custodianship that First Nations communities have carried for tens of thousands of years.

As educators, we recognise our responsibility to nurture in every child a deep respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and an understanding of their enduring connection to Country. We believe in fostering a generation of children who grow up with cultural curiosity, empathy, and a sense of shared responsibility for reconciliation.

We strive to provide a welcoming, inclusive environment for all children and families—where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices are heard, valued, and celebrated. Our curriculum reflects this commitment, guided by community relationships and grounded in the stories of the land on which we learn and play.

In particular, we respectfully acknowledge the Wadawurrung People, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which Bambini Newtown is located. We seek to build ongoing, genuine relationships with local Elders and community members, learning from their knowledge and guidance as we deepen our reconciliation practice.
