Amy Hurd shares a united vision of reconciliation; we believe as a community and educational service that it is our responsibility to value and recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories We believe it is essential  to honour and respect all  Australian identity and history, in our service, in our curriculum planning and in our daily practice. We as a service acknowledge the true histories of the past and the significant impact colonisation has had and continues to have on First Nations peoples today. We will respectfully and honestly educate others about the importance of reconciliation and working actively towards a future that is just, equal and equitable, and free from racism and discrimination. We understand that reconciliation is ever evolving, a work in progress. Thus, appreciating and valuing the contributions of diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. We continue to demonstrate these inclusive initiatives into our everyday practices.   Â
We achieve this by providing and ensuring respectful and culturally safe and responsive learning environments that promote the inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. We respectfully include First Nations perspectives to all families, children, educators and the community. Our vision is for all children to learn about the true histories of this nation and the diverse cultures of First Nations peoples, to build a more just society that represents equality and equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, acceptance of our shared histories and the removal of negative race relations.   Â
In context to our education service, this represents an inclusive and diverse workplace that is safe and culturally rich and proud of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories.  Â
