VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Kiama High School, our vision is to embrace walking together and working together to strengthen unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all Australians. We are committed to closing the gap by nurturing meaningful connections with Country, while deepening understanding of First Nations peoples, histories, cultures, and contributions across our school community, including students, staff, families, and the wider public. We aim to embed the guiding principles of Aboriginal education into all that we do, building a learning environment that is inclusive, culturally safe, and enriched by the knowledge and pride of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Mutual respect, equality, and equity form the foundation of our school culture, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive. Our school acknowledges and honours the Wodi Wodi people of the Dharawal Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we learn and gather, and all First Nations peoples throughout Australia. By embedding these values and principles, we strive to lead with integrity, celebrate diverse perspectives, and continue our shared journey of reconciliation with pride.
