Robina First Early Learning Centre believes that all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children should have access to equal, equitable and culturally responsive education and learning opportunities. We truly value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and are committed to demonstrating deep respect for, and understanding of, First Peoples perspectives and contributions.  In actively working towards reconciliation, we will embrace unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians by promoting equality and equity, truthful acceptance of our shared history since colonisation and removal of discrimination and negative race relations.  As a centre, we also believe that reconciliation is about relationships, respect, and trust. Through reconciliation we strengthen the relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for the benefit of all Australians. Our Reconciliation Action Plan is a formal statement of commitment to reconciliation underpinned by three key themes of, Relationships, Respect and Opportunities for Self-Determination through Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's self -governance. By making this commitment, Robina First Early Learning Centre aims to enrich the lives of our staff, children, families, volunteers, and the wider community through a deeper understanding of and connection to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and to also provide opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to have input and contribute into our programs. We will work towards respectfully engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, community, and Elders as we lead the centre on its reconciliation journey. Robina First Early Learning is also committed to being wholly inclusive in all planning and decisions concerning First Nations children, their families and our community.  Â
