VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Cooma School for Early Learning, reconciliation means building and strengthening respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community, for the benefit of all.   We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Nations peoples of Australia, and we recognise their enduring connection to Country, culture and community.   We honour the rich heritage, knowledge systems and continuing contributions of First Nations peoples in shaping our shared histories and educational practices. We recognise that these knowledges and perspectives are central to Australia's identity and to the learning journeys of all children, families and educators.    Cooma School for Early Learning is committed to walking alongside First Nations peoples in the spirit of truth, respect and unity. We strive to create equitable opportunities and outcomes by embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives meaningfully across all areas of our curriculum and practice.     Together with children, families, educators and community members, we are dedicated to fostering cultural responsiveness, listening deeply and learning from the voices and aspirations of local First Nations peoples. Through these shared actions, we aim to contribute to a future grounded in social justice, mutual respect and cultural understanding.
