VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Busy Bees Childcare Centre, our vision is to contribute to an equitable and reconciled Australia where all children, families and educators build respectful, meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are committed to walking alongside the local Wurundjeri community to deepen understanding, respect and appreciation for First Nations people histories, cultures and enduring connections to Country. We recognise that reconciliation is an ongoing journey grounded in listening, learning and genuine partnership. By continually strengthening our relationships with community, we aim to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within our curriculum, environment and everyday practices. Busy Bees Preston East is dedicated to fostering inclusive and respectful partnerships with our local First Nations communities ensuring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices are valued, heard and reflected in decision-making and learning experiences.

Our vision is to create a culturally safe and welcoming environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and community members feel a strong sense of belonging. Through culturally responsive teaching, we support self-determination and celebrate identity, culture and lived experiences. We believe children play a vital role in reconciliation. By listening to their voices and nurturing their natural sense of fairness, empathy and respect, we empower them to grow as informed and compassionate individuals who understand the importance of unity, respect and shared responsibility.
