Our vision for reconciliation begins by acknowledging the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Country on which our service stands and recognise that their culture and heritage is continuous. At Little Lane Box Hill, we acknowledge that reconciliation is about respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their diverse cultures and perspectives and for positive relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians, where we all live together with respect and understanding. We are committed to a culturally safe and inclusive environment that respects and values the unique cultural identities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and staff. We have a strong commitment to reconciliation, recognition of First Nation cultures, and engagement with First Nations peoples and communities. We strive for First Nations children, educators and families to feel a sense of belonging and to deepen our cultural responsiveness. We will collaborate with local First Nations peoples on projects visibly and authentically embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures within our learning programs and the physical environment.
