At Penrose Kindergarten, our vision is for reconciliation to be an ongoing journey of acquiring knowledge and deeper understanding, and respect and recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures and the truth telling of the ongoing effects of colonisation on the First Peoples of Australia. Â
Penrose Kindergartens children, families and educators will develop a deeper understanding and respect towards First Nations people being the Traditional Custodians of the Land and deepening our understandings of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples rich cultures and true histories.
We continue to work towards achieving a greater understanding about the importance of equality, equity, inclusion, anti-bias, cultural safety and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures and perspectives at our service and in the wider community. Â
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and cultures will be visible in our programs every day, and educators will respectfully engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to understand pedagogies to inform our teaching practice.
The teaching team will continuously work towards providing a culturally safe service that promotes inclusion, equity, respect and a shared passion for reconciliation, caring for country and respectfully passing our knowledge onto our children, educators, families and fellow community members of Penrose Kindergarten.
