Barefoot Early Childhood is committed to providing a service culture that is welcoming, inclusive and respectful of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We respect the wisdom, strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as well as acknowledging the ongoing injustices and discrimination experienced since colonisation.
Our vision for reconciliation is for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people to live together in harmony, understanding and respect for our shared histories. We continue our commitment to learning more about First Nations peoples, building positive relationships and opening our eyes, our hearts and our minds to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives and cultural, spiritual and educational practices.
We acknowledge and pay our respects to the past, present and future Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as we continue to learn more about their histories and practices, both traditional and contemporary. Together we will work towards a reconciled future.
