VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Lowood Early Education Centre acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and pays respect to Elders past and present.

Lowood Early Education Centre's vision for reconciliation is the respectful acknowledgment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia. We will provide opportunities for educators, children and families to deepen their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander peoples’ cultures, histories and stories throughout our everyday program and practice.

Lowood Early Education Centre strives to provide a culturally safe space within the workplace and care being offered. We will provide equal and equitable opportunities between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples, ensuring no labels, stereotypes or disrespect are shown to any person. We commit to building and maintaining meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, ensuring that everyone feels welcomed and included and feels a sense of belonging. We strongly believe that having an Australia that is reconciled is everyone's business and responsibility.

Our team at Lowood Early Education Centre take responsibility and steps to ensure the future leaders of this country learn from a young age about our shared histories. Actively learning about the journeys, we have all taken, and are taking, to contribute to a culturally safe environment will support unified Australia and ensures that we are authentic and meaningful in how we engage and interact with reconciliation in, and through, education.
