VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Boondall Kindergarten's vision for reconciliation is to respect Meeanjin and Turrbul  Country through honouring the connections that First Nations People have with the natural environment and utilising its resources.

Our vision for reconciliation at Boondall Kindergarten is one that embraces unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and non-Indigenous Australians, and a national culture that represents equality and equity, historical acceptance of our shared history and removal of negative race relations. Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community; creating a country of equity, dignity and respect.

Our vision is to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our early education curriculum and ensuring that these perspectives are a living embodiment of our everyday actions and practices as educators, committee members, parents and carers. We will continue to reflect and transform our practice and learning, so together as a society we can respectfully value and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their cultures.

This will be achieved through connecting with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and families; through ongoing personal and professional learning; reflective practice; and deepening our connection to Country; connecting to all living things through sustainability and a continued respect and acknowledgement of Boondall's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and history.
