Langwarrin Preschool believes in acknowledging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories. As an Early Childhood Education Service, we strive to promote increased awareness of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives by children, families and the wider community as we work towards a respectful, reconciled Australia. Staff in our centre are committed to working towards reconciliation and respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into curriculums and discussions with children and families. We continue to build respectful relationships within the local First Nations communities. We are continuing to deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, perspectives and cultures through ongoing professional development sessions and staff meetings. We are committed to continually extending and exploring ways to achieve a reconciled Australia.
We advocate for reconciliation through education, respect and empathy to gain understanding of First Nations peoples, cultures and perspectives.
