At Goodstart Early Learning New Gisborne we respect the cultures, perspectives, histories and knowledges of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and strive to embed this understanding and respect into our every- day practices and centre philosophy. We champion unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians by promoting equality and equity, historical acceptance of our shared histories and the removal of discrimination and negative race relations.
Our reconciliation plan is a formal statement of commitment to our reconciliation journey. By making this commitment Goodstart Early Learning New Gisborne aims to enrich the lives of staff, children, families, volunteers and the wider community through a deeper understanding and connections to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, providing opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to have input and contribute into our programs. We endeavour to engage respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, community and Elders providing opportunities to contribute to our centre.
