Our vision is a centre that is culturally sensitive to all children, families and staff regardless of their background where everyone feels welcome and valued. By celebrating and embracing cultural diversity we see a harmonious future but also believe we must acknowledge past and present injustices that continue to impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for there to be true reconciliation. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and the wonderful opportunities they provide for the learning, practices and environments within our service, and welcome the input t of Elders and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members. Our local area is rich in Aboriginal cultures and histories, and we aim to explore this through hands-on experiences and outings and endeavour to form a greater connection to the Land. As Educators and members of our community we make the pledge to acknowledge the truths of our nation, embrace the voice of our Aboriginal communities and move forward to a more inclusive Australia.Â
To make this pledge we commit to ongoing professional development that focuses on inclusive practices and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.Â
