VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation at Community Kids Bangor is for Aboriginal and Tores Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives (Dharawal and Koori), cultures, histories and languages to be embedded within our philosophy, practice and curriculum. Community Kids Bangor acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians and as the Traditional Custodians of this Land. We acknowledge and respect the unique relationships that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have with Country, as well as First Nations peoples’ histories and diverse cultures, contributions, customs and circumstances.  We aim to integrate their histories and cultures into every aspect of our service, with a strong emphasis on authentically including their perspectives within our curriculum. We achieve this through collaboration with the Dharawal People and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families within our service and community. By working together, we continue to build our educators, children’s, families and communities understanding of Australia’s histories and ways we can represent this within our service
