Winterfold Primary Schools vision for reconciliation is that our entire school community continues to actively acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and Traditional Owners of the Lands across this country and the oldest continuing cultures in the world.   We will acknowledge the true histories of Australia, including the injustices which have occurred since colonisation and the continuing impacts on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We also acknowledge the continued strengths and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.   We strive to provide opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices to be heard and encourage non-Indigenous people to be open to actively listening.   We will continue to engage in open communication with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people and to walk side-by-side, working together to heal the past and make positive changes for our shared future.   Our educators and students respect and value Aboriginal and Torres Islander peoples rich and diverse histories, languages and cultures. We will also continue to respect and nurture the Noongar Country on which our school stands, and be open to learning from Noongar traditions how best to sustain this precious Land. We will strive for equity and equality to ensure that all Australians, regardless of their background, have access to opportunities and resources that enable them to thrive. We envision an inclusive nation free of racism, where everyone receives the support they need to succeed, ensuring fairness and justice for all without discrimination      Â
