VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

We aspire to work collaboratively with community members of the Kaurna Nation and community members from neighboring Nations, to build authentic relationships as we engage, actively listen and learn from authentic perspectives.

In our vision for reconciliation, there is a commitment to cultivate an environment that fosters respect and nurtures everyone's stories, in particular the stories of the First Peoples of Australia and of the Traditional Custodians of the Land that we are situated on. We strive for reconciliation to be respectfully embedded in our school community, born from a shared understanding.

Integral to our school culture is accountability and commitment to actions that allow us to become part of the reconciled Australian story. In this we acknowledge and develop, in partnership, knowledge about the world's oldest living continuing cultures and our place alongside.

We seek to explore First Nations Peoples histories and cultures in the local and national communities, in order to build a relevance and sense of belonging for all in a shared, meaningful identity.

Our core values of integrity/numa wapinthi,  belonging/wartapurru, creativity/kurlana yailtya, humility/karrakarrarrinyatina, excellence/marnintyarla and compassion/tangka wayirrinthi frame our learning, living, and reconciliation journey. We aspire to be a future focused, critically engaged community where true histories inform our contemporary understanding of reconciliation.

We are advocates for truth telling, institutional integrity and equity.
