At Truganina South Primary School we REACH for Reconciliation
Relationships
At Truganina South Primary School we respectfully acknowledge that we are learning together on Boonwurrung Country. We are actively committed to building ongoing respectful relationships with the First Nations community. Our relationships are built upon deep respect and appreciation of true histories, cultures, values and the significance of place of First Nations people. We are curious and seek to understand histories and perspectives.
Excellence
We strive to create a safe and inclusive culture working towards Reconciliation. Through listening with an open mind, we learn about history and the impact of colonisation. As allies, we share the responsibility of truth telling. We strongly advocate for First Nations People and create opportunities for empowerment and celebration of effort and growth.
Acceptance
We strive to create a safe, equitable and welcoming environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families where pride in identity flourishes and the longest living cultures are acknowledged. We model empathy and patience and seek to understand different perspectives.
Collaboration
We collaborate with First Nations students, their families and community members, striving for the best outcomes. We share accountability for the wellbeing and learning of students, collaborating to understand how we can continually improve our pedagogies. We respectfully challenge ideas and biases, calling out injustice and racism.
Honesty
We actively teach true histories of First Nations people through our curriculum. We maintain honest and respectful communication, creating a safe environment for honesty to be shared and valued.
At Truganina South Primary School we are honest about Australia’s past to enable us to improve the future.
