Our vision for reconciliation at The Y Early Learning Centre Bunbury is to provide a culturally safe early learning centre in which we nurture understanding by teaching about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples histories, perspectives and cultures. We promote reconciliation by doing our part to foster equity and equality between non-Indigenous Australians and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We value the contributions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have continued to make and respect their ongoing strength and resilience. We will build relationships with the local First Nations community and through this collaboration, we are committed to gaining a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing and learning and let that shine visually through projects, scaffolding and more within our centre.
