VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At SchoolsOUT, reconciliation is more than a goal; it is a journey of understanding, respect, and mutual learning that guides our entire educational program. We envision a community where the history, culture, and rights of First Nations peoples are not only recognised but are integral to the fabric of our daily educational practices and interactions. Our commitment to reconciliation is motivated by the desire to forge meaningful connections, deepen our understanding of Australia’s diverse histories, and foster an inclusive environment that honours the unique place of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our nation's narrative.

We see reconciliation as a dynamic opportunity to educate, inspire, and engage our children and staff in critical thinking about the past, action in the present, and planning for a more just and equitable future. Through our curriculum, community engagements, and organisational policies, we aim to create a culture of inclusivity that respects the dignity of all and promotes the well-being of the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities we serve.

By publicly articulating our vision for reconciliation, we commit to a continuous process of reflection and learning. We are dedicated to building bridges between cultures, celebrating diversity, and ensuring that every member of our school community feels valued and understood. This is not only our vision, but our promise—to strive tirelessly to bring this vision to life in every program, every interaction, and every opportunity to learn together.
