VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Star Academy Kids acknowledges and deeply values the cultural histories, heritages, traditions, and ways of being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our vision is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are recognised, respected, and valued as the Traditional Custodians of the Land and for their ongoing contributions. We aspire to a community where all children, from early childhood, are educated to understand, value, and hold deep respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, histories, cultures, and ways of knowing and being.

We strive to create an inclusive learning environment that fosters cultural responsiveness and respectfully embeds Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across all areas of our service. Our centre is committed to a continuous journey of learning and understanding reconciliation with all members of our community, including staff, children, and families. We aim to develop and sustain respectful and reciprocal relationships with the Land on which Star Academy operates.

Aligned with the 2008 National Apology, we believe that our reconciliation journey is about building "a future based on mutual respect, mutual resolve, and mutual responsibility." We are committed to ensuring that through reconciliation, justice, equity, and recognition are achieved for all.
