At Park Terrace Kindergarten we strive to provide a culturally responsive and inclusive environment where families feel a sense of belonging and each child and their cultural identity is valued.
We acknowledge the deep relationship the Barngarla people have with the land and the sea and the life they sustain. We aim to respectfully learn about this shared connection through our learning and play.
We will provide opportunities for all children, educators and their families to participate in activities to deepen their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and perspectives. We will continue to foster conversations about reconciliation that enable further learning and understanding.
‘We are all here, woven into this country, in this moment in time. So lets make history we can all be proud of.’ [‘Reconciliation in Australia- Our Story, Our History, Our Future’, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0Ul8WB3kvA&t=99s, Reconciliation in Australia, 2016, sighted August 30th 2022]
