VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Pallara Child Care Centre, our educators, families, and community share a united vision for reconciliation, one that values Truth-telling, deep respect, and strong, authentic relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. We acknowledge the enduring connections that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to Country, waters, skies, and community, and we honour their strength, resilience, and custodianship as the First Peoples of these Lands.     Our vision for reconciliation is grounded in our belief that early learning services have a vital role in shaping a more just, equitable and inclusive future.  We are committed torespectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives meaningfully across our curriculum and daily practice;creating safe, equitable and equal opportunities and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and staff; as wecontinue building and sustaining respectful relationships with local First Nations communities and organisations and challenging bias, addressing racism, and promoting cultural safety and inclusion across our service.

We aim to be more than culturally responsive, we are committed to being a culturally rich, inclusive and empowering environment that values the worlds oldest continuous living cultures.

Our approach is guided by the Early Years Learning Frameworks principles of Being, Belonging and Becoming, and reflects our ongoing commitment to reconciliation in our philosophy, pedagogy and practice.     At Pallara, we walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, supporting a future where First Nations peoples and cultures are respected, voices are heard, and rights are upheld. We believe reconciliation starts with us as we educate with our youngest citizens about reconciliation.      We are committed to walking together in the spirit of reconciliation, respectfully learning from and, learning with First Nations peoples, and valuing the worlds oldest continuous living cultures.
