Our vision for reconciliation is a learning environment where all children, families, and educators respectfully engage with, learn about, and respect the cultures, histories, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are committed to embedding reconciliation in all aspects of our early childhood service, ensuring that First Nations perspectives are meaningfully included in our teaching, relationships, and everyday practices.
Through our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), we continue to strengthen cultural responsiveness within our team, equipping educators with the confidence, knowledge, and skills to respectfully incorporate their understandings of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ ways of knowing, being, and doing. By fostering meaningful connections with First Nations communities and seeking guidance from local Elders and knowledge holders, we ensure our learning environment reflects and respects the richness of First Nations cultures.
Reconciliation is an ongoing journey that requires reflection, action, and a commitment to deep and respectful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We strive to provide a space where every child has the opportunity to develop an appreciation of the diverse languages, traditions, and histories of First Nations peoples. By embedding First Nations peoples’ perspectives in play, storytelling, art, music, and nature-based experiences, we nurture a sense of respect, curiosity, and understanding First Nations peoples’ connections to Country.
As an early learning community, we acknowledge our responsibility in shaping current and future generations who value and respect First Nations peoples and cultures. We encourage all children, families, and staff to walk alongside us in this journey, ensuring that reconciliation remains a living, evolving part of our service. Through our actions, we aspire to contribute to a more inclusive, understanding, and culturally rich society for all.
