VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Peak Sports and Learning, our staff and families believe in learning from and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, particularly the Murramarang people in the local community. We believe that reconciliation is an important part of our educational program. Reconciliation is about respect and developing positive relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other non-Indigenous Australians. We place importance on influencing and engaging our children in reconciliation through positive role modelling and respectfully educating them to build a community united and committed to creating an equal and equitable Australia. As a centre, we strengthen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples histories and cultures as we commit to working toward a safe and equitable place for all people. We provide a welcoming environment for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and pledge to value their knowledge and hope to respectfully promote programs that facilitate meaningful and authentic experiences while building relationships with local First Nations peoples.
