Our vision at Lady Gowrie Collingwood Park Community Kindergarten is that all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this country are recognised for their enduring cultures.   Our road to reconciliation has taken us on a journey of deep internal reflection through engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and perspectives.  It has given us the strength to advocate for and promote listening to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices.Â
We continue to build and strengthen relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and the broader community as we strengthen our knowledge and understanding of First Nations Peoples histories and cultures.  This will enable us to create and maintain culturally safe environments and include activities into the program that reflect and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives.  We also believe that we need to ensure our Kindergarten is accessible and inclusive with a feeling of connectedness towards First Nations Peoples and valuing, engaging with and learning about their cultures and histories.  We teach the children at our kindergarten about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders deep connection to the land, learning through protecting and caring for the Land on which we meet, respecting all wildlife and the spiritual importance of the Land.Â
