VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At The Rumpus Room Warabrook, we acknowledge and respect the Traditional Custodians of the Land, the Awabakal people. We are committed to fostering an environment of reconciliation, where children, families, and staff actively engage in learning about, and respecting, the rich cultural heritage, history, and traditions of the Awabakal people.

Our vision for reconciliation is one of inclusivity, empathy, and respect, where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures are acknowledged, and First Nations peoples’ perspectives are respectfully integrated into the fabric of our daily practices. We strive to create a learning environment that acknowledges the past, embraces the present, and nurtures a future built on mutual respect and understanding.

Through meaningful partnerships with the Awabakal community, we aim to provide children with opportunities to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures in ways that are respectful, engaging, and empowering. We are dedicated to promoting positive relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and non-Indigenous communities, supporting the healing process and ensuring that every child grows up with a deep respect for the diversity of First Nations peoples and cultures, inclusion, and social justice.

Together, we work towards a future where reconciliation is not only a vision but a lived reality for children, families and community.
