At Yass Montessori Pre-school, reconciliation means continuing to learn about First Nations peoples, histories, perspectives and ways of being. Reconciliation is a shared learning journey between educators, children, families, and the community.
As we work towards reconciliation together, we support children to make their own connections with Country through learning about Ngunnawal people’s relationships with the Land, play and planned experiences, respectful truth-telling, and learning about First Nations peoples’ perspectives.
We will continue to embed new understandings that we gain through meaningful relationships and consultation with local Ngunnawal community members and professional learning. We acknowledge First Nations peoples' voices and respect the input of the local Land Council and its representatives.
