VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Borilla Kindergarten is deeply committed to ongoing learning the about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders true histories, cultures and contemporary issues.

Our vision for reconciliation is to provide leadership to others in supporting relationships that are respectful, welcoming and inclusive relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are the heart of our practice.

We believe that reconciliation can facilitate change in the next generations. Developing awareness, knowledge and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures,  and true histories will reap benefits in children from an early age. Through exploring concepts of of fairness, justice, equality and equity, we seek to develop a sense of social justice in those future generations, leading to a better, fairer society in which reconciliation will thrive.

We aim to provide a high standard of education for all children, laying a foundation to future successes. Our approach centers on the strengths, values and languages of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples families and the wider communities cultures and languages. We will add to the culturally specific knowledge brought by families and communities, offering equitable educational opportunities that ignite a love of learning and maximise the potential of every child.

We are committhis journey towards meaningful, long-term reconciliation, fostering a safe and equitable community where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples diverse cultures, true histories and ongoing connections to Land is respected, valued and celebrated.
