VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Busy Bees at Byford South, we envision a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, identities and rights are respected, and embedded in everything we do. We are committed to creating a learning environment where every child, family, and educator feels a strong sense of belonging, and where First Nations perspectives guide us toward deeper understanding, connection, and truth-telling.   We recognise the Whadjuk Noongar People as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which our Centre stands, and we honour their continuing spiritual, cultural, and educational relationships with Country. As educators, we acknowledge our responsibility to nurture children who value fairness, equity, and respect, and who grow with genuine appreciation for the worlds oldest living cultures.   Our vision for reconciliation is one of strong, authentic relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, ongoing cultural learning for our team, and meaningful opportunities for children to engage with First Nations knowledge, stories, and ways of being. Through curiosity, compassion, and collaboration, we strive to contribute to a future where reconciliation is lived every day in our curriculum, our environment, our decision-making, and our hearts.   Busy Bees at Byford South is committed to walking this journey with humility, purpose, and hope, ensuring our actions reflect the change we wish to see for the generations we care for today and those that will follow.
