Morphett Vale Early Learning Centre recognises and values the culture and teachings of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and the local community of the Kaurna people. Morphett Vale Early Learning Centre believes in raising awareness and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures through a process of ongoing learning and education, and also deepening our connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. By working together, and including children from a young age, we can collectively build on our understanding and work towards a better future based on stronger relationships between non-indigenous Australians and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As a centre we are committed to raising awareness about reconciliation, demonstrating this commitment and raising the profile of reconciliation in our community. We need to further develop an understanding of, and reflect upon the injustices that continue to impact Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
