Here at Goodstart Early Learning Elizabeth Vale we respect the Land we respect the Peramangk and Kaurna peoples, incorporating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives authentically into daily practice and being active members in the local community. We respectfully embed First Nations perspectives into our daily practices and programs, strengthening our connections and relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. We believe in striving for a reconciled Australia and raising awareness of the true histories of this nation in our Centre and wider community. We actively acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, their diverse cultural values, languages, traditions and active continuing contributions. We continue to work towards bringing together all peoples in unity and respectful engagement to ensure we act against racism and discrimination within our Centre and the wider local community, teaching and modelling for the children valuable life lessons along the way. Building on our reconciliation journey thus far, it is our hope to set an example of reconciliation, with a focus on equality and equity, for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, staff, and the wider community. Through our work with children, families and communities we seek to listen, learn and deepen our understanding and respect of First Nations cultures, tell the true stories of Australias history, and to care for the land on which we live, work, play and learn.
