Sparrow Early Learning Currimundi acknowledges the Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi people, we thank the Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi people for caring for the Land on which we learn and play. This Land is the place of the flying fox. Sparrow Early Learning Currimundi is dedicated to developing an awareness of reconciliation throughout our local community. We endevour to share our respect for First Peoples of Australia with children, educators and the wider community through appropriately embedding First Nations peoples’ perspectives and histories into our daily programs. We will continue to create a culturally safe space that is free of racism, and where First Peoples of Australia and non-Indigenous people feel a sense of belonging and at home within our service environment. We will continue to build relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. We engage with the local community by involving children in learning experiences and discussions that deepen their understanding of reconciliation. We provide opportunities to teach children about how they can care for Country in collaboration with the local Kabi Kabi and Gubbi Gubbi people. We are committed to ensuring that every child, educator and family has strong knowledge and understanding of the continued significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' cultures, and stories, wisdom, and contributions.
