VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Goodstart Arcadia Street, we proudly acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of this Land. We honour the Bunurong people as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which our centre stands and deeply respect their unbroken connections to Country, culture, language, and community.

Our vision for reconciliation is one of unity, respect, and shared understanding where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives are recognised, celebrated, and meaningfully embedded in our learning community.

We are committed to building and sustaining respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, Elders, and communities and respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, cultures, and knowledges into our curriculum and environments in authentic and culturally safe ways.

We will continue providing opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices to be heard and valued in shaping our programs and decision-making, supporting ongoing cultural learning and reflection for educators, children, and families and promoting equity, equality, truth-telling, and the elimination of racism and discrimination.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan reflects our commitment to these values. Guided by the pillars of relationships, respect, and opportunities, we strive to walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on this journey.

Through reconciliation, we foster a culturally responsive learning environment where every child feels proud, connected, and culturally confident in their individual identities  and where our community grows together in understanding, healing, and hope.
