VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Goodstart Early Learning Chadstone, our vision for reconciliation is to foster unity, respect, and harmony for all. We are dedicated to educating both current and future generations about the rich histories, cultures, and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We strive to move forward together with mutual respect, honesty, and understanding, recognising that reconciliation is an ongoing journey of learning, self-reflection, and partnership. We believe that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, like all children, deserve access to high-quality, culturally safe, and inclusive education and learning opportunities. We deeply honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and commit to learning through profound respect and empathy. As Australians working towards reconciliation, we promote unity by advancing equality and equity, embracing shared histories, and actively working to eliminate discrimination and racial prejudice. For us, reconciliation is about building respectful relationships and fostering genuine understanding between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the broader Australian community. We are committed to strengthening these connections for the benefit of all. Our reconciliation plan formalizes this commitment, focusing on building relationships, respect, and knowledge. We are dedicated to meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, as well as the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong communities and Elders. Together, we aim to create a united community and a brighter future for generations to come.
