Our vision for reconciliation is to respect and acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation within our community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples throughout Australia. Goodstart Early Learning, Vermont Canterbury North believe First Nations children and all children have access to equal and equitable education and learning opportunities. As Australians actively working towards reconciliation, we embrace unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians by promoting equality and equity, and historical acceptance of our own shared histories and removal of discrimination and negative race relations.  As a centre we also believe that reconciliation is about relationships, respect and trust. Through reconciliation we strengthen the relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for the benefit of all Australians. Our Reconciliation Action Plan is a formal statement of commitment to reconciliation underpinned by three key themes of, relationships, respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's self-determination. By making this commitment Goodstart Early Learning, Vermont Cantery Road North will provide opportunities for staff, children, families, volunteers and the wider community to deepen their understanding of and connections to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and perspectives.
