VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Norfolk Street Child Care Centre, reconciliation means embracing a journey of unity, respect, and belonging while honouring the rich and diverse cultures, histories, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We acknowledge their significance as the First Nations peoples of Australia and as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we live, learn, and grow. This year marks our 6th year of holding a Reconciliation Action Plan, a reflection of our long-term commitment to reconciliation. Through our RAP, we continue to learn, grow, and authentically embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives into our daily practices and programs. We strive to ensure our approach is inclusive, culturally sensitive, and free from bias or tokenism, upholding deep respect for the worlds longest-surviving cultures. We remain dedicated to recognising and celebrating the contributions of past, present, and emerging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our vision is to nurture meaningful relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Elders, communities, and organisations, while fostering equal and equitable opportunities and outcomes for all. Through six years of our RAP journey, we continue to strengthen understanding, respect, and cultural connection within our centre and the wider Australian community, celebrating the rich heritage and ongoing contributions of First Nations peoples.
