Our vision for reconciliation at Tumut Community Preschool is for children to respect and acknowledge the unique cultures of the First Peoples of Australia. We acknowledge and respect the deep connections that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to Country on which we now live and learn.
We continue to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives in our curriculum, building and deepening genuine, respectful relationships with the local First Nations community and fostering a sense of belonging and inclusion.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan guides our preschool on this journey towards harmony, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to immerse themselves respectfully in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures. We recognise and respect the cultural rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and are committed to developing a deeper understanding of First Nations peoples’ ways of knowing and learning, thoughtfully integrating these into all aspects of our preschool
