Reconciliation is an integral component of Australia moving forward in the journey of respect for, and acknowledgement of, the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.
At Bundanoon District Community Preschool, we aim to achieve reconciliation through shared learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, histories and continuing contributions. Respecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ connections to Country and the truthful histories each generation has endured since colonisation will help us to build relationships and foster healing as we move towards living in unity with the Traditional Custodians of the Lands on which we live, learn, walk and work.
We are committed to continuing to develop further understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and respectfully learning about First Nations Peoples’ ways of being, knowing and doing. We actively engage in advocating for the Aboriginal Cultural Safety Framework being widely adopted to give all children the opportunity to understand culture and truth in an authentic manner.
