At Mt. Ousley Pre-School, we acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of this Land. Our vision for reconciliation is integrated learning experiences that respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories, the absence of negative race relations and the acceptance of our shared histories. We strive to deepen our knowledge of the histories, cultures and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, promoting unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians and a sense of being, belonging and becoming at the service. Reconciliation must be in our hearts, minds and actions as we move forward, creating a nation based on respectful relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
