KU Karingal Preschool

Our vision for reconciliation involves enhancing the understanding and respect of the local and national histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples among children, families, educators, and the wider community. We will deepen our own knowledge and perspectives, enabling us to approach the sharing of our learnings sensitively and respectfully.  To achieve this, we will actively engage in research, training, and community outreach, aiming to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the Land and integrating this recognition into our teaching practices. We will establish trusting, respectful, and mutually beneficial partnerships while fostering an appreciation for the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. Additionally, we will prioritize sustainability in various aspects, including Land stewardship and reducing our carbon footprint.  In pursuit of our vision for Karingal, we will invite preschool community members to join us in exploring the rich histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait peoples cultures and forge connections with local Elders. We will seek diverse viewpoints from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and engage in professional development and critical reflection.  Our journey is one of continuous improvement and ongoing learning and development.
