VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Fun2Learn, we are dedicated to educating our children and families about the rich and unique cultures, histories, and ongoing contributions of the local Darug people. As a community, we are committed to making small but meaningful changes in our daily practices to foster genuine relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider non-Indigenous community.

We aim to support the journey towards reconciliation by ensuring equal and equitable educational outcomes for all children. To guide our efforts, we respectfully draw on the knowledge and experience of Darug Elders and local Aboriginal community services, ensuring our practices are shaped by the voices and perspectives of those with lived cultural knowledge.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan is a key part of this commitment. It will provide practical strategies for sharing knowledge with children in meaningful and respectful ways, encouraging ongoing engagement with Aboriginal communities, and strengthening partnerships that promote equity, understanding, and cultural respect across our centre.

We also recognise the importance of involving families in this journey. We are actively working to spread awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures among parents and carers, and to include them in our shared vision of establishing a culturally safe and inclusive environment for all. We believe that building cultural safety begins with open conversations, shared learning experiences, and genuine respect. By engaging families through communication, participation, and community events, we aim to foster a sense of shared responsibility and pride in celebrating First Nations cultures.

Together, we are committed to creating a more inclusive, just, and unified Australia starting with our children, our families, and our everyday actions within the Fun2Learn community.
