VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At South Kalgoorlie Primary School, our vision for reconciliation is to walk together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in a spirit of respect, truth, and unity. We are committed to building a learning environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and contributions are valued, celebrated, and embedded into all aspects of school life.   We believe reconciliation begins with relationships; relationships that honour the wisdom of Elders, amplify the voices of First Nations peoples, and strengthen understanding between all members of our school community. Through these connections, we strive to create a culturally safe and inclusive school where every child feels a strong sense of belonging and pride in who they are.   Our commitment to reconciliation motivates us to teach with truth, listen with openness, and act with integrity. By nurturing curiosity, compassion, and respect, we aim to equip our students to be future leaders who embrace diversity and actively contribute to a more just and equitable Australia. Together, we look towards a future where the stories, knowledge, and strengths of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are recognised as a vital part of our shared identity, and where reconciliation is lived every day in our classrooms, playgrounds, and community.
