Reconciliation means genuine, respectful and meaningful connections between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people. At The Hills Montessori School, we strive to further strengthen our relationships with, and understanding of, Kaurna and Peramangk peoples, histories and cultures.
Reconciliation means actively listening to the histories and teachings of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, recognising and acknowledging the past and the ongoing impacts on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples since colonisation, and actively contributing towards a reconciled Australia.
We acknowledge that we have so much to learn and our responsibility in shaping the knowledge and attitudes of current and future generations. We do this hand in hand with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
