VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Roma Mitchell Secondary College, our vision is to cultivate a community where appreciation and respect for diversity, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledges, cultures, and histories, are at the heart of our reconciliation and educational journey. We are committed to fostering kindness, cultural responsiveness, and a sense of belonging for all, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

In order to work towards reconciliation, we must continue to learn from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through, listening, reflecting, and growing for a better and more equitable future for everyone. We will involve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in decisions that impact them, through respectful consultation.

We uphold a zero-tolerance policy on racism, striving for peace and equality so that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, staff, families and community members feel a sense of belonging, which will result in a place where all students can excel and thrive.

Everyone in our community has a responsibility to play a part in reconciliation. We aim to strengthen relationships through teamwork, harmony, and unity, connecting and reconciling together.
