VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Wondall Heights State School strives to maintain a sense of belonging, built on mutual respect and trusted relationships between with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people.  We acknowledge and value the wisdom, knowledge and experiences that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples hold  Our staff are supported to build their cultural awareness and capability to authentically embed First Nations peoples cultures and perspectives and explore the true histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.   As a school, we commit to building and maintaining an inclusive, culturally safe and welcoming learning environment. We continue to listen to the needs of families to create equity for all students.   To promote reconciliation WHSS will continue raise awareness and acknowledge the past histories of this country and the ongoing impacts on First Nations peoples. We will respect the healing process, change misunderstandings and be a voice for reconciliation in Australia.
