At John Paul College our vision for reconciliation is to foster respectful and meaningful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider community forming foundation for a reconciled future. We value and recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, true histories and perspectives. By truthfully acknowledging past injustices and their ongoing impact on First Nations peoples, we respectfully deepen our understanding of their present experiences and perspectives. We will respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives into our teaching and will continue to actively acknowledge the richness and diversity of First Nations cultures. Our vision is to  ensure that young people in our college are taught from an early age about the important workings and teachings of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures and their place in society. We are committed to raising awareness and developing our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples from Lands all over Australia and we recognise the injustices that have impacted, and are still impacting, First Nations peoples since colonisation. As educators we recognise our responsibility to encourage and inspire all students to understand and embrace the reconciliation process and to work towards a future that promotes equity and equality. This is an ongoing commitment from John Paul College. We will continue to enhance the recognition of  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples histories and cultures, and build upon the reconciliation process to provide a culturally sensitive learning environment for all First Nations students.      Â
