VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Belle Vue Primary School we believe that reconciliation is built through community. Creating a space that acknowledges and celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and perspectives. A culturally safe place that recognises all Australians, where everyone feels valued and respected, and encouraged to share, listen and connect with each other. We believe that listening to and learning from stories that shape our shared histories is an essential part of building reconciliation. As we deepen our understanding the ongoing impact of colonisation on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, we make a commitment to historical acceptance. We aim to embed an appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, the longest living culture on Earth, across all areas of the curriculum.  At Belle Vue, we hope to build trust and belonging in our school community, with genuine commitment to partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners, families and the wider community. We aim to create a positive environment for all students to learn and feel celebrated. We prioritise the wellbeing for all students with proactive policies and support, dedicated to ensuring equal and equitable education outcomes.
