VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Appin Public School, we have a vision for reconciliation that promotes peace, hope and unity within our community. We acknowledge the ongoing and significant histories and cultures that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have and aim to acknowledge and celebrate that across our whole school. We strongly believe that acknowledging the past wrongs and true histories of colonisation that impacted and continue to impact First Nations peoples, will benefit all students, staff and community members and enable non-Indigenous and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to move forward in unity and respect.

As a school, we are committed to developing our understanding and knowledge of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and aim to include this within all our teaching and learning and school environments. We are proud to continue nurturing and building upon our connections to local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures through continual learning, unlearning and re-learning about our shared histories, and to share with all First Nations and Non-Indigenous students and families.
