At Kingscliff Public School, we continually develop and strengthen our recognition and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples histories and cultures, for the benefit of all students, staff and the wider school community. Â Â We value building strong connections and partnerships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, communities, organisations and the Goodjinburra Peoples of the Bundjalung Nation. Through working together with First Nations peoples, we will ensure that we create a future where diversity, inclusivity and reconciliation is at the forefront of our school community. Through listening to First Nations community members, learning about First Nations peoples connections to Country and celebrating cultural significant events, we are creating a respectful school environment. This enables current and future generations to learn and understand the true histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the ongoing impacts of colonialisation of First Nations peoples so the mistakes of the past are never repeated. Â Â We all walk this journey towards reconciliation together, as one. Everyone is welcome to join us, treading lightly on Country with footsteps ingrained with respect, truth and understanding.
